Registration for ANYmal Research Access

  Please read carefully!

Before registering for ANYmal Research, read the following instructions carefully. Reach out to info@anybotics.com for any questions.

The ANYmal Research community develops, documents, and shares software and other information to improve and extend the capabilities of the ANYmal robot. The community is supported and driven by ANYbotics.

As a researcher on the ANYmal Research program, you will be able to work with one of the world’s most advanced robotic systems. You will get access to strictly confidential and detailed information. Through your registration, you confirm that you have understood the following instructions and will strictly adhere to them.

Confidentiality

As an ANYmal Researcher, you will be given access to ANYmal software, algorithms, technical drawings, documentation, or other data to operate or simulate the ANYmal robot. This may include ANYmal Research software developed by other ANYmal Researchers as well as services on the ANYmal Research web pages. All provided information that is not generally available to the public (e.g., through publications or open-source software) shall be deemed confidential.

Confidential information means any and all technical and non-technical information, data, know-how, company secrets relating to existing, future and/or proposed research and/or technology, ventures and/or products and services of ANYbotics, except for the information already made public in filings, applications and registrations (e.g., published patent applications). Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the protection of confidential information shall extend to all information with regard to research, engineering, financial information, procurement requirements, purchasing, manufacturing, customer lists, business forecasts, sales, and merchandising and marketing plans. Confidential Information may be communicated in writing, orally, or electronically, and may or may not be labeled as confidential.

Your research institution has signed a research agreement with ANYbotics and undertakes to maintain strict confidentiality with respect to all information and company secrets of ANYbotics which comes to its notice. Without the prior written consent of ANYbotics, your research institution is not entitled to use such information either directly or indirectly, nor to forward or disclose it to third parties.

As an ANYmal Researcher of your research institution, you are bound by the research agreement of your research institution. You are strictly forbidden to disclose, publish, or disseminate any confidential information to anyone other than employees working in your organization on a strict need-to-know basis, unless permitted in writing by ANYbotics. You understand that any disclosure of confidential confirmation may cause irreparable damage to ANYbotics and could have legal consequences for the research institution.

Scope and Restrictions

ANYbotics enables world-leading robotic research by making all or part of the ANYbotics technology available to research institutions. The access is strictly limited to non-commercial robotics-related research. It excludes any applications, purposes, use cases or similar in the military sector and/or of relevance in armed conflicts, combat, military surveillance, reconnaissance, or weaponization in any way.

As an ANYmal Researcher, you shall use ANYbotics technology and any confidential information exclusively for research and development and demonstration purposes within the above described research field.

ANYmal technology cannot be transferred to any third-party technology or other robotic platforms other than ANYmal, cannot be used to simulate any other robotic platform other than ANYmal, and cannot be distributed to third parties without prior written consent by ANYbotics.

Publicity and Publications

As an ANYmal Researcher, you shall clearly indicate in writing “ANYmal by ANYbotics” in all written (text form) publications relating to the ANYbotics technology. In any pictures or videos displaying the ANYmal robot or simulation, you shall ensure that all ANYbotics names, logos, and distinctive elements are either fully visible or not deliberately hidden and/or removed.

As an ANYmal Researcher, you shall refrain from any publication or announcement that could in any way give the impression that the ANYbotics technology is or may be used in a military-related context or for military purposes, such as but not limited to (i) pictures featuring armed forces personnel or gear and the platform, (ii) publications in journals (or similar media) that may reasonably be deemed to have a military nexus, and/or (iii) publications in which any element (e.g. pictures, text wording) could give rise to a reasonable impression of a link between ANYbotics and/or ANYmal and the military or defense industry sectors.

Registration

You agree that by registering as a member of ANYmal Research, no legal partnership or agency relationship is created between you, ANYbotics AG, and any other ANYmal Researcher or research institution, and you agree not to represent otherwise.
